Growing on the success of past years, there will be even more to see and do at this year's Healthier You Expo, set for Sunday at the Prince George Civic Centre.

The old standbys will be back as exhibitors will pack the main show hall and speakers will fill the schedule at the main stage.

But this time around, the YMCA of Northern B.C. will devote an entire auditorium to its kids activity area. That's where youngsters who complete the scavenger hunt by visiting all the activity stations will be eligible to win one of two brand new bikes - one for a lucky girl and one for a lucky boy.

Also for the first time, all three of the Civic Centre's upstairs breakout rooms will be put to use.

Yoga master Sufey Chen will put on demonstrations of four types of the discipline, Chelsea Gibson of Wild Rose Wellness will give an introduction to an array of alternative therapies, CrossFit Darkstar will provide a look at how its members get and keep their shapes and USANA Health Sciences will provide strategies for maintaining a healthy digestive system.

Downstairs, Tim Hague Sr., winner of the Amazing Race Canada and an advocate for Parkinson's sufferers, will be the keynote speaker.

He won't be the only one to take to the main stage. There will be presentations on diabetes and diversity, courtesy of Nancy Gupta, healing acupuncture, courtesy of Wael Fawzi and healthy snacks courtesy of the College Heights Secondary School leadership club.

There will be prizes and giveaways all day long and the first 500 visitors will receive a green-cloth shopping bag filled with swag from Save On.

The Salvation Army will also be on hand to collect non-perishable items as part of a food drive for its clients. Those who donate will see their names entered for a draw for a flight for two to Victoria from Pacific Coastal Airlines.

Flu shots will also be offered free of charge.

And there will be two goats to pet courtesy of Chilako Nubian Soap, which makes soap out of goat milk.

The expo is hosted by Prince George-Valemount MLA Shirley Bond, the Immigrant and Multicultural Services Society and the Prince George Citizen.

"With great speakers, informative workshops and booths, the Healthier You Expo is an easy way to help people from all walks of life make more informed decisions about creating healthier lifestyles," Bond said.

The expo runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
