Head-on in McBride hurts two

A crash near McBride put an 81-year-old man in Prince George hospital and another man to McBride hospital. The latter received minor injuries but the elder has serious injuries.

Police said the incident happened just after noon on Thursday approximately five kilometres east of McBride. It was a head-on collision when one of the vehicles crossed the centre line into the path of the other.

"Speed and alcohol are not believed to be contributing factors in this collision," said RCMP Sgt. Pat McTiernan of North District Traffic Services. "Seat belts were used by the occupants of both vehicles and minimized injuries."

The investigation is still underway. Anyone who might have witnessed the crash is asked to call the McBride RCMP Detachment at 250-569-2255 or the Prince George Regional Provincial Traffic Unit at 250-649-4004.
