The B.C. Coroners Service released the names Wednesday of three people who died in recent motor vehicle incidents.

- Rodney Randolph Hoffman, 71, of Kamloops, was killed in the head-on collision near Burns Lake on Labour Day.

Hoffman died at the scene after his eastbound sport utility vehicle crossed the centre line on Highway 16 and collided with an oncoming motorhome about 30 kilometres west of the community at about 11:40 a.m. Monday.

A man and woman inside the motor home were taken to Burns Lake Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

- Jiping Fang, 52, of Sherwood Park, Alta. and Leonard Kropp, 61, of Fort Saskatchewan, Alta. were killed Aug. 28 when their southbound rental car crossed the centreline on Highway 97 about 25 kilometres north of Quesnel and into the path of a semi hauling a chip trailer.

The truck's driver escaped without injury.

Both the car and the chip truck caught fire as a result of the early-afternoon collision and the flames spread to the tree line along the highway, forcing a wildfire supression crew to be called in.
