It may have been a big night for the trick-or-treaters but Halloween proved to be nothing out of the ordinary for the Prince George RCMP.

It was described as an "overall an average night," in a statement issued Tuesday morning, although there were a few significant calls beginning with one at 7:45 p.m. when RCMP responded to a report of one youth threatening another with a handgun near the corner of Fifth and Tabor.

Officers located a young male with a loaded BB gun and, while on the scene, were told he had touched a young female in a sexual manner. He was taken into custody and, depending on how the investigation turns out, could face charges of sexual assault, uttering threats and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Roughly two hours later, at 9:40 p.m., RCMP were called to a report of a male pushing a female youth to the ground and then a male youth into a fence near the corner of Massey Boulevard and Vanier Drive. The suspect, who was not found, is described as a slim Caucasian wearing a green coat and blue jeans.

At about 10:30 p.m., police arrested an intoxicated man near Vancouver Street and 12th Avenue in response to a report of someone near 15th Avenue and Spruce Street swinging a hard object at the end of a swing and yelling. The man was lodged in cells at the detachment until sober and the homemade weapons found on him were seized and will be destroyed, RCMP said.

Just after 12:30 a.m., police were called to report of a commercial break and enter at a 200-block First Avenue business. Two women, ages 29 and 21, were arrested and released for a future appearance in court.

And police are on the lookout for a male, just under six-feet tall with a slim build and wearing a grey hoodie, jeans and sneakers after a small amount of cash was stolen from a 2200-block Queensway business at about 3:30 a.m.

In all, Prince George RCMP attended 50 calls between 6 p.m. Monday and 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Just before 3:30 AM, officers responded to a report of a commercial Break & Enter on the 2200 block of Queensway in Prince George. A suspect gained entry to the business and stole a small amount of cash and fled before police were called. The suspect is described as a male, slim build, under 6' tall, wearing a grey hoody, jeans & sneakers. The investigation in continuing.
