Prince George Mayor Lyn Hall is facing off against is Kamloops' counterpart - literally.
Mayor Peter Milobar challenged Hall to raise funds during Movember - and naturally both will also try to grow the best moustache.
"Like so many Canadians, I have family and friends who have been affected by prostate and testicular cancer, diabetes, and mental health issues. If by accepting this challenge, I can increase awareness and understanding of these issues, then bring it on," wrote Hall in his online Movember profile.
By print deadline, Team Hall had raised $260 of $270 in what the two are calling the "B.C. Battle Royal."
Hall had already received some support from colleagues, including city spokesman Mike Kellett who like others, seemed inspired by the fun approach to fundraising.
"I was going to shave my money, but this momentous movement motivated me not to 'stache it."
