Police seized guns, ammo and other weapons during Wednesday's high-profile takedown of a 1600-block 11th Ave. home, Prince George RCMP said.

RCMP said they found a handgun and a box of ammunition in plain sight outside the home, just north of Parkwood Mall. On the strength of that information, combined with the fact it was the site of a drug bust in early December, Mounties were able to obtain a search warrant for the home.

Inside, they located and seized two loaded and prohibited firearms, two imitation firearms, illegal body armor, several boxes of ammunition, scales, a small amount of drugs, cash, various edged weapons and some stolen property.

RCMP had responded to an abandoned 911 call had over the noon hour. On suspicion that it may have been the scene of a robbery with a firearm, the North District RCMP emergency response team and Prince George RCMP police dog services were called in to clear the home.

In all, 19 people were cleared from the home without any trouble.

No arrests were made and charges remain pending results from lab analysis on the drugs and firearms.

"This is typical of an investigation of this nature,” Cst. Jennifer Cooper said.
