A daytime break-in has put guns and other items into the hands of crooks.
The theft occurred sometime between 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday on Ferndale Road on the city's rural fringes to the east.
Police say an Acer laptop was taken, as was assorted hunting gear, and a collection of firearms. Missing are a .300 Weatherby Magnum rifle, a .410 Sears shotgun, a .22-calibre Winchester rifle, plus ammunition.
