A Prince George man sentenced to two years in jail after police found a loaded semi-automatic hand gun and $60,000 cash in his vehicle has been acquitted on appeal because the arresting officer checked pictures on the man's camera.

B.C. Court of Appeal Justice David Frankel ruled Thursday that Dwayne William Caron's privacy rights were violated "without any consideration being given to whether, in the particular circumstances, a warrantless examination of the camera fell within the limits of the law."
