A third case of rural break-and-enter in as many days has come to the attention of Prince George police. This time, a gun and ammunition was stolen among other items.

This case happened on Tuesday on a home on South Kelly Road and was discovered at about 10:25 p.m. The resident told investigators the break-in had to have happened between then and 6:30 p.m. that same evening.

The front door was forced open to give the thief or thieves access to the home.

A camouflage-coloured, semiautomatic .308 calibre Norinco rifle with two magazines and a bi-pod were taken. Also, a 42-inch Panasonic flat screen TV, an XBox 360 gaming console, a laptop computer, jewelry, a Samsung Smart Phone, a green Century gun safe and American currency were also taken.

The timing is very close to thefts from homes on Telachick Road and Hubert Road that happened on Monday, previously reported in The Citizen.

"It could be the same person, it could be a group going around, or coincidence," said Prince George RCMP spokesman Cpl. Craig Douglass. "But we have noticed that more than one of these similar cases have happened in a close timeframe, so it is a possibility we are considering."
