Gun in waistband nets jail time

A woman was sentenced Wednesday in Prince George provincial court to a day in jail and 18 months probation after police located a .45 calibre pistol in her waistband when the pickup truck she was in was pulled over in July.

A woman was sentenced Wednesday in Prince George provincial court to a day in jail and 18 months probation after police located a .45 calibre pistol in her waistband when the pickup truck she was in was pulled over in July.

Terilyn Rose Haskell, 21 also received a 10-year firearms prohibition.

Court records indicate she had been remanded in custody from the day of her arrest on July 31 to Oct. 4 and then since Nov. 25 for a total of three months.

Haskell received the term for unauthorized possession of a firearm and improper storage of a firearm.

She was with two other men in the truck when it was pulled over during the early morning hours of July 31 near Highway 16 and Boeing Road on suspicion the vehicle was stolen.

Keith Christopher Lundy, 33, faces five driving-related charges as well as three counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000 and one count of possession of a restricted firearm from the incident.

Lundy remains in custody and his case continues to go through the courts. The other man was released

without charge.
