Police in Prince George made their second major grow-op bust in the last week.

The latest marijuana operation was located early Wednesday afternoon in the 3900 block of Second Ave.

"The warrant was executed on a duplex where the basement on both sides were used for growing marijuana," said Prince George RCMP spokesman Const. Gary Godwin. "The RCMP seized 423 plants and related equipment. Both BC Hydro and the City of Prince George assisted with dismantling the operation as there was an illicit hydro bypass being used."

The suspected operator of the grow-op was not at home when Mounties were forced to make their move, said Godwin, but the investigation is still underway.

The first bust this week was on Sunday on Fairburn Road where Mounties found 1,300 plants and arrested one suspect.

Anyone with information to help the investigation, or to relay any intelligence to the RCMP about drug issues, is asked to call the Prince George detachment at 250-561-3300. Anyone can also pass information on to Crime Stoppers operators by phone or on their website (1-800-222-TIPS or www.pgcrimestoppers.bc.ca) without ever giving your name or being traced. Rewards are even available for information leading to prosecution, without ever having to identify yourself to anyone.
