Four Prince George groups are receiving grants from the provincial government to host events in the city.

Prince George Quilters Guild is getting $1,475 for Crossroads 2016, a show designed to increase visibility of guild and to exhibit quilts made in the community that's set for May 13, 2016. Caledonia Nordic Ski Club is getting $4,867.50 to host classes on Feb. 26, 2016 to introduce school age youth to cross-country skiing.

Fraser-Fort George Museum Society (Exploration Place) is getting $5,000 to host National Aboriginal Day atLheidli T'enneh Memorial Park on June 21, 2016. The event will feature free rides on the Little Prince steam engine. Prince George Community Foundation is getting $3,500 to put on Sound of Summer, a free concert that was held at the Lheidli T'enneh Memorial Park bandshell this month. The money comes out of the Ministry of Community, Sport and Cultural Development's EventHostBC program. The grant allocations were announced Wednesday.
