Greyhound Canada is denying responsibility for the injuries two passengers claim they suffered when one of its buses went off the road 1 1/2 years ago.
In responses filed in B.C. Supreme Court in Prince George, Greyhound contends in part that the claims do not apply under the province's Health Care Costs Recovery Act.
Jesse Campbell-Smith, of Prince George, and Darlene Brickell, of Quesnel, are seeking damages for injuries they say were suffered when the bus they were travelling in went off Highway 97 about five kilometres north of Hixon on Jan. 14, 2016.
In part, they allege the bus was being driven at a speed excessive for conditions at the time. The bus's driver, Craig Conroy is also named as a defendant.
In its responses, Greyhound also asserts the bus did not lose control but rather, the driver lost control.
Conroy has not yet filed responses and the allegations have not yet been proven in court.
