Green close to sweeping the polls

Not only did Shari Green win Prince George's mayoral race by a significant margin, but she pretty much achieved a clean sweep on a poll-by-poll basis.

Not only did Shari Green win Prince George's mayoral race by a significant margin, but she pretty much achieved a clean sweep on a poll-by-poll basis.

Green drew the most votes in all eight polls on Saturday although main challenger Dan Rogers emerged the front runner in the Nov. 9 and Nov. 16 advance voting opportunities. Green was tops in the Nov. 15 advance voted, in the special voting opportunity - for hospital patients - and mail-in votes.

At D.P. Todd, Green attracted 1,505 votes or 47.1 per cent of the total cast at the site, to Rogers's 1,152 or 36.1 per cent. At John McInnis, it was Green 1,088 (47.7 per cent), Rogers 787 (34.5); at Kelly Road, it was Green 1,085 (50.5 per cent), Rogers 644 (30.0); at Ron Brent, it was Green 825 (41.9) Rogers 751 (38.2); at Malaspina, it was Green 892 (46.4), Rogers 754 (39.2); at Vanway, it was Green 376 (44.3), Rogers 262 (30.9); at Edgewood, it was Green 369 (52.6), Rogers 219 (31.2); and at Blackburn, it was Green 135 (50.8), Rogers, 82 (30.8).

At the Nov. 9 advance poll, it was Rogers 161 (40.7), Green (38.1); at the Nov. 15 advance poll it was Green 251 (39.8), Rogers 246 (39.0); at the Nov. 16 advance poll it was Rogers 224 (44.2), Green 213 (42.5); at the special opportunity it was Green 70 (47.9), Rogers 43 (29.5); and for the mail in votes, it was Green nine (45.0), Rogers seven (35.0).
