Armed with a baseball bat, a Prince George senior chased an intruder out of her home early Friday morning.
Prince George RCMP Cpl. Craig Douglass said police received a call just before 6:30 a.m. from the 68-year-old woman who said she awoke to a noise in her Norwood Street home.
"When she investigated she observed a bouncing light from a flashlight in her kitchen," Douglass said. "The woman grabbed a nearby baseball bat and chased the suspect out of the residence, striking him several times."
Patrols of the area were unable to locate the suspect, believe to have entered through a window. He is described as an overweight male, about five-foot five-inches tall (165 cm) and wearing a puffy winter jacket with dark brown fur trim and the hood up.
He may also have injuries to his arms, hands or torso, Douglass added.
