The B.C. Liberal government said Wednesday it will spend $87 million on 51 new highway projects in northern B.C. this year.It will bring the value of ongoing highway construction in the northern area to $200 million."This will be one of the busiest highway construction seasons in the North on record," said Premier Gordon Campbell, who made the announcement in Prince George.Campbell said the $200 million in spending will create an estimated 1,200 jobs throughout the North.
