On Giving Tuesday, where people are encouraged to do good things to support one another through kindness or donation, the Prince George Community Foundation gave $3,000 to six local organizations to boost their endeavours.

The foundation put the names of all local registered charities into a basket and selected three finalists in each of the six categories of their giving categories, including Arts & Culture, Education, Environment, Social Services, Health and Sports & Recreation.

Through the website, members of the community were able to vote for their favourite registered charity.

The final recipients are:
Arts and Culture: Prince George Cantata Singers
Sports: Caledonia Adaptive Snowsports Society
Environment: David Douglas Botanical Garden Society
Education: Central BC Railway & Forestry Museum
Health: Canadian Mental Health Association of Northern BC
