Gaming grants handed out to local groups

Prince George sports and cultural organizations are receiving $620,940 in combined funding through the community gaming grant program, the provincial government said Friday.

Prince George sports and cultural organizations are receiving $620,940 in combined funding through the community gaming grant program, the provincial government said Friday.

Topping the list, Prince George Regional Art Gallery Association received $155,000, followed by Greater Prince George Minor Hockey at $100,000, Fraser-Fort George Museum Society at $86,000, Prince George Agricultural and Historical Association at $70,000, Prince George Figure Skating Club at $62,000, Northern B.C. Centre for Skating Association at $51,000, Huble Homestead-Giscome Portage Heritage Society at $50,600, Multicultural Heritage Society of Prince George at $35,000, Yalenka Ukrainian Dancers Society at $6,000 and Spruce City Minor Boys Softball at $5,340.

Organizations interested in applying for a community gaming grant can find application information and guidelines at www.pssg.gov.bc.ca/gaming.

Applications for organizations that provide environment and public safety programs and services are currently being accepted until the end of August.
