Gaming grants awarded

Four Prince George-based organizations and one in Mackenzie will share in a total of $131,500 from the community gaming grant program, the provincial government said this week.

Four Prince George-based organizations and one in Mackenzie will share in a total of $131,500 from the community gaming grant program, the provincial government said this week.

Prince George Regional Highway Rescue Society is receiving $60,000, Prince George Search and Rescue Society $47,000, Mackenzie Search and Rescue Society $9,000, Prince George Crime Stoppers Association $8,000 and Prince George Amateur Radio Club $7,500,

The grants are awarded under the program's public safety category.

Grants are also awarded in the categories of human and social services, sports and arts and culture and environment.
