The Canada Games Roly McLenahan Torch has been set aflame, lighting the way to Prince George for the 2015 Canada Winter Games.

As part of Games tradition, the torch was lit from the Centennial Flame on Parliament Hill Thursday morning in a ceremony featuring Gov. Gen. David Johnston declaring 2015 as the Year of Sport in Canada.

A delegation from the 2015 Games – which will open in Prince George on Feb. 13 – was on hand in Ottawa, including Mayor Shari Green, representatives from the Lheidli T'enneh and the host society.

The torch relay lands in Victoria on Friday and will work its way up the province before arriving in Prince George on Nov. 4.
