Initiatives Prince George will be holding a series of workshops on Tuesday for businesses and economic development agencies looking to promote their products and communities during the 2015 Canada Winter Games.

Initiatives Prince George is the business engagement partner for the games, which will be held in Prince George from Feb. 13 to March 1, 2015

"We are working with the 2015 Games and 5T Sports Group to provide businesses with the information they need to bid on supply and service contracts and to prepare to provide top notch customer service to the thousands of people who will be in Prince George for the 2015 Games," Initiatives Prince George CEO Heather Oland said in a written statement. "We encourage all businesses, no matter what size, to attend these workshops to find out how they can play a role in and benefit from the 2015 Games."

The first workshop will feature presentations by Aileen McManamon of 5T Sports Group and Hlne Rohn, purchasing manager for the games. McManamon and Rohn will speak about how to bid on contracts for the estmated $15 million in goods and services needed for the games.

Games CEO Stuart Ballantyne and Lee Malleau of M&A Globalnomics will hold a workshop on handling the surge of customers expected during the games.

Ballantyne and Malleau will also hold a workshop for economic development and public sector agencies about how communities can capitalize on major sporting events like the games.
