Wine lovers and board game enthusiasts will get a chance to unite behind a common cause.

An online fundraising campaign via Kickstarter is now up for Naramata: Wine & Tourism, a board game designed by Prince George resident Chris Dias.

“Pairing my love for wine with my love for board games is an exciting way to share the Naramata region with the rest of the world,” said Dias.

The game is focused on the Naramata Bench wine region of British Columbia's Okanagan. Players assume the roles of tour vehicle operators taking their guests to various wineries and work to entertain them through cheese samples, tastings, wine pairings, and scenic photo opportunities.

Anyone who donates $75 will receive a core version of the game, Dias said.

“Higher pledges provide access to additional levels of the game and the opportunity for investors to be immortalized in the game as a tourist themselves,” he said.

Naramata will be released in 2021 and should retail for about $75.

“Pairing my love for wine with my love for board games is an exciting way to share the Naramata region with the rest of the world,” says Dias.
