A total collapse in some dependable funding sources has not caused a collapse of the Prince George Symphony Orchestra on the eve of the group's 40th anniversary.

The PGSO received the news that they will receive zero dollars from provincial bingo revenues, zero dollars from provincial casino gaming revenues and zero dollars from the B.C. Arts Council. These envelopes provided about $65,000 to $70,000 last year, and in spite of anticipated reductions in those coffers, the PGSO's board was still expecting some money to arrive from these traditional supporters.
