FrontCounter BC will begin processing fish, wildlife and park use permit applications starting April 1.

The service is being transferred from the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations permit and authorization service bureau.

The permits can be obtained through any of FrontCounter BC's 29 offices throughout the province, including the Prince George office at Plaza 400 downtown, and online through www.FrontCounterBC.gov.bc.ca.

Hunting and fishing licences continue to be available through retailers. Fishing licences are also available online at: www.gofishbc.com/how-to-fish/fishing-licence-bc.aspx

The 10 staff associated with the permit and authorization service bureau are being offered the opportunity to relocate to a FrontCounter BC office or alternate positions within government.

Forests Minister Steve Thomson announced the change Friday.
