A Prince George resident with an extensive criminal history is facing charges for weapons possession, and four others have been arrested following a police raid on Quince Street.
On the afternoon of May 18 members of the Prince George RCMP's Crime Reduction Team and Downtown Enforcement Team obtained and executed a search warrant on a residence in the 2200 block of Quince Street.
Police seized prohibited weapons, including a sawed-off shotgun and a sawed-off rifle, a rifle confirmed stolen out of Terrace and ammunition. A quantity of methamphetamine was also seized. Five people were arrested in the residence.
Several charges including unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless use of a firearm, possession of a firearm knowing it's possession is unauthorized, tampering with a serial number, possession of property obtained by crime and possession of a controlled substance, are being recommended to Provincial Crown Counsel against a 27-year-old male Prince George resident who is well known to police and has an extensive criminal history.
