Prince George Mounties are investigating the city's fourth homicide of 2021.

An investigation is underway into a fourth homicide in Prince George this year.

RCMP spokesperson Cst. Jennifer Cooper says police were alerted around 3:30 a.m. early Thursday morning (April 22) a man had checked in at the emergency room in local hospital with staff explaining he had 'traumatic injuries.'

The man eventually died from those injuries, Cooper explains.

She says current information indicates the man was involved with a house in the 900-block Carney Street that's known to police after a drug warrant was executed at the residence in March.

Investigators believe at this time that the homicide was targeted and there is no current risk to the public.

Mounties are asking anyone with dashcam footage or were in the area between 3 and 6 a.m. to contact Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300.
