A missing man may have been a victim of foul play, Prince George RCMP said Wednesday.
Maxwell Harvey Mayling, 51, has not been seen since October and despite two calls by police for the public's help to find him since then, he has not been found although his red 1995 four-door Ford Taurus was located in downtown Prince George.
"The detachment's serious crime section has been leading the investigation and are treating it as a possible homicide," Prince George RCMP said.
RCMP said Mayling is known to police and is believed to be associated to the drug trade. He had moved to Prince George from the Fort St. John area in spring 2016.
Since 2007, he has had police contact in Prince George, Fort St. John, Dawson Creek, Chetwynd and Fort Nelson.
Mayling is described as First Nations, 175 cm (5'9) tall and weighing 82 kg (180 lbs) with brown eyes, salt and pepper hair. He wears glasses, RCMP added.
Anyone with information on Mayling's disappearance is asked to call Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
