Fort St. James woman identified as crash victim

Police have released the identity of the victim of a fatal two-vehicle collision which occurred on Highway 16 Friday night.

Jennifer Joseph, 29, of Fort. St. James was killed when the Hyundai Accent she was a passenger in lost control, crossed the centre line and collided, head on with a GMC Jimmy approximately 20 kilometres outside of Vanderhoof.

The driver of the Accent, a 28-year-old female also from Fort St. James, along with two other passengers - a nine-year-old girl and two-month-old infant - were transported to St. John Hospital in Vanderhoof with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver and three children passengers of the Jimmy were transported to the University Hospital of Northern B.C. in Prince George with minor injuries.

Vanderhoof Traffic Services, along with Prince George Regional Provincial Traffic Services are still investigating the crash. Anyone who may have witnessed it or may have information about the collision is asked to call the RCMP at 250-561-3300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
