A Fort Nelson man died from injuries sustained in an ATV crash on Saturday morning.
North District RCMP said the 40-year-old rolled his ATV on a rural trail south of Fort Nelson
and they believe both alcohol and speed were factors.
The call came in at around 2:30 a.m. and the attempts to save him at the scene by emergency crews were unsuccessful.
In the release Cpl. Dave Tyreman reminded ATV riders to be cautious drivers in the backcountry and to wear the right safety equipment.
RCMP expect that as the weather improves, more riders will be on the road
"Safety first and please do not consume alcohol when planning to ride," it said.
