Former resident found dead

A 20-year-old former resident of Prince George has been found deceased in Kelowna where he had relocated. The body of Christopher Hetu was discovered in Mill Bridge Park Oct. 27.

A 20-year-old former resident of Prince George has been found deceased in Kelowna where he had relocated.

The body of Christopher Hetu was discovered in Mill Bridge Park Oct. 27. A police investigation determined the man's death was the result of gun shot wounds and that he was the victim of a homicide.

Neighborhood inquiries revealed three to five gunshots were heard between 1:10 and 1:15 a.m.

Hetu, who had recently moved from Prince George, was seen entering the Gordon Drive entrance to the park about 1 a.m. on a BMX bike

"Police Investigators strongly believe there are individuals in Kelowna and Prince George that have information about this murder. We are asking these individuals to come forward with this information and assist in identifying the person or persons responsible for Christopher's death," said RCMP Cst. Steve Holmes, media relations officer in Kelowna.

Kelowna RCMP, in partnership with Crime Stoppers and CHBC Global News, have produced a re-enactment video that can be viewed on the Crime Stoppers website, and was uploaded to youtube as well as the bc.rcmp.ca website.
