Former Citizen editor in chief, Tony Skae, died March 3 in Vancouver General Hospital following brief illness. He was 90.

Born in Vancouver in 1919, Mr. Skae began his newspaper career in the mid-1950s with the Echo, a Prince George publication and soon moved to The Citizen as editor around 1957, but shortly after moved to Vancouver Island where he ended up as a speech writer for the B.C. Minister of Transportation.
