Ford vehicles the main targets in string of Prince George thefts: RCMP

Seven incidents in two weeks range from local pulp mills to retail stores

Seven Ford vehicles were reported stolen in Prince George during the last two weeks and they appear to be targeted according to RCMP.

The reports date back to July 1 and some were even taken from the same site more than once.

These happened at various times of the day as well and it has prompted police to once again remind the public to ensure your vehicles are locked when they’re not in use and to not leave personal items in plain view.

The seven cases, some still being investigated by the Prince George RCMP, are as follows:

2002 FORD E-250 (2019-2347)

On Tuesday, July 2 around 8:30 p.m., the van, which was unoccupied, was reported stolen from the BCR Industrial site on Great Street.

It was eventually recovered on Quince Street five days later where a generator and a bike were found inside the van, neither were reported stolen, and the investigation is on-going.

2003 FORD F-350 (2019-23983)

On Saturday, July 6 around 1:30 p.m., the pick-up truck was also reported stolen from the BCR Industrial site with a Honda 6500 generator in the back.

It was eventually recovered on Upland Street the next day, unoccupied, and this investigation is also on-going.

1999 FORD F-450 (2019-24127)

On Sunday, July 7 around 1:30 p.m., this pick-up truck was reported stolen from the parking lot of a local pulp mill on Landooz Road, but was recovered in Dome Creek near McBride on July 9.

This case was part of an on-going property crime investigation and three people have been arrested,

2006 FORD F-350 (2019-24226)

In the early hours of last Monday morning (July 8), the white pick-up truck [pictured above], B.C. license plate number JT3436, was reported stolen from a parking lot on Recplace Drive, and is still missing at this time. 

2015 FORD F-350 (2019-24360)

Last Monday night (July 8), this white pick-up truck was reported stolen in Prince George from a George Paul Lane parking lot and also recovered in Dome Creek near McBride the following day.

This was part of the same property crime investigation as the 1999 Ford F-450 where three people were arrested.

2000 FORD F-350 (2019-25108)

On Saturday (July 13) at 10 a.m., police received reports of a stolen burgundy pick-up truck [pictured above], B.C. license plate number HR7739.

It was stolen from a parking lot on Range Road and has yet to be recovered.

2011 FORD F-250 (2019-25109)

The grey pick-up, B.C. license plate number LE2360, was reported stolen on Saturday (July 13).

It was taken from a home on the Hart Highway (28000 block) with had a snow plow detachment on the front and is still missing at this time.
