A truck splashes through a huge puddle on Simon Fraser Avenue at Acadia Place Wednesday morning. Warm temperatures created a quick melt that had city crews busy opening up storm drains, and the work continued on Thursday.

The city is asking for the public's patience as crews scramble to deal with the fallout from the unseasonably warm weather.

As of noon Thursday, it has received over over 180 calls for service for issues related to melting snow and ice, and rainfall.

"Crews from the utilities division are out in force today - as they were yesterday - attending to issues such as blocked culverts and ditches, flooded driveways, and frozen and blocked catch basins," the city said in a statement.

Boundary Road was reopened Thursday after flooding between Highways 16 and 97 forced its closure the day before.

"As residents know, in the past week Prince George has experienced a deep freeze, a large snow event, record-breaking warm temperatures, and last night's rainfall," the city said.

"The city appreciates the patience of citizens as crews attend to these issues around Prince George."
