Changes to the weather forecast mean a flood alert is still in effect for residents on Farrell Road.
On Monday the City of Prince George anticipated the flood alert would be lifted by that afternoon, based on a forecast calling for little rain in the near future. However Environment Canada is now predicting another low-pressure weather system will be moving into the area east and south of Prince George by Wednesday.
"The [flood] alert is still in effect as long as the high streamflow advisory is in effect," Davis said.
Environment Canada is predicting between 30 and 50 millimetres of rain over the two days.
Based on that projection, the B.C. River Forecast Centre is maintaining its high streamflow advisory for the Fraser River near Prince George.
The level of the Fraser has been declining steadily since Sunday and was at 8.02 metres as of 11:40 a.m. on Tuesday.
The B.C. River Forecast Centre is predicting the Fraser River will continue to recede for the next two day, then surge again as water makes its way downstream to the Prince George area.
