There are five Prince George restaurants that have moderate hazard ratings as of May 2.

Last month, there were also five moderate ratings but only two restaurants have consistently rated moderate.

On the list again are Famous Wok and Little Caesars.

Famous Wok has consistently rated moderate and high in 2023 while Little Caesars has been rated moderate since Nov. 4, 2022.

Famous Wok still has a moderate rating from the last inspection dated March 28 that includes a critical repeat for hot potentially hazardous food storage, food not protected from contamination, equipment, utensils, food contact surfaces not sanitized properly.

Little Caesars still has a moderate rating from the last inspection dated March 24 that includes a critical repeat for cold potentially hazardous food storage, food not protected from contamination, a repeat for premises not free from pests, and a repeat of conditions observed that may allow entrance, harbouring and breeding of pests.

The other restaurants rated moderate in Prince George include:

Fire Pit, most recently inspected on April 27, has a critical repeat for equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not properly washed and sanitized, food premises not maintained in a sanitary condition and critical for no adequate handwashing stations not available for employees.

Pita Pit has a moderate rating dated April 6 but there are no details available on the website.

Purden Ski Village has a moderate rating from the inspection on March 24, which discovered cold food potentially stored in a hazardous way which can lead to bacterial growth possibly resulting in food borne illness. Food not protected from contamination where cleaning chemicals were stored above dry foods and evidence of mice droppings. Purden is closed for the season.

The two local restaurants that had moderate hazard ratings last month - The Courtyard by Marriott and White Spot - are now at low after follow-up inspections.
