Five charged after woman suffers assault

Charges have been approved against five people following an alleged assault of a woman just before Christmas.

Prince George RCMP said they were called to an Upland Street home on Dec. 23 where they found a female suffering from bruises, cuts and cigarette burns.

Police, who described the victim as uncooperative, determined the attack occurred elsewhere and executed a search warrant on a 1700-block Pearson Avenue home.

As well, five people were arrested.

Celia Robinson, 33, faces one count each of pointing a firearm, using a firearm while committing an indictable offence, aggravated assault, assault causing bodily harm, unlawful confinement, robbery with a firearm, knowingly possessing a firearm without a licence, uttering threats and assault.

Mandi Lee Zacharuk, 28, faces one count each of aggravated assault, assault causing bodily harm, unlawful confinement, robbery with a firearm, uttering threats and assault.

Vanessa Kathleen Friesen, 30, faces one count each of aggravated assault, assault causing bodily harm, unlawful confinement, robbery with a firearm and uttering threats.

Ollie James Henyu, 34, faced one count each of intimidation of a justice system participant, uttering threats and assault.

Remi Paul Gauthier, 52, was charged with knowingly possessing a firearm without a licence.

All but Gauthier spent the holiday season in custody.
