Mounties in Prince George say they have arrested five individuals after arrests downtown and two executed search warrants.
On Thursday (Feb. 14), the Prince George RCMP Street Crew arrested an adult man and woman at the intersection of Fourth Avenue and Dominion Street.
In a release, Cpl. Craig Douglass says the arrests were part of an on-going drug trafficking investigation.
Following the two arrests, officers then executed two warrants under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act at homes in the 5900-block Montgomery Crescent and 4600-block Freimuller Avenue in Prince George.
Officers seized what they believe to be fentanyl, as well as cocaine and drug trafficking paraphernalia.
Five people were arrested and released without charge, pending further investigation and approval of charges from the Federal Prosecution Service of Canada.
Police add they are committed to the enforcement and prevention of initiatives that combat illegal possession and sale of illicit drugs in the community.
If you have any information about illegal drug trafficking in the city, you are asked to call Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300.
