First Nation, regional district get emergency planning grants

The province is providing more than $800,000 to 19 communities through the Community Emergency Preparedness Fund

An area First Nation and regional district are receiving provincial funding to develop and upgrade emergency-evacuation-route plans and public-notification plans.

The Tsay Keh Dene Nation northwest of Prince George is getting $27,193.80 for evacuation route planning while the Cariboo Regional District is receiving $29,500 to develop an evacuation route plan for  108 Mile Ranch and the surrounding area.

The province is providing more than $800,000 to 19 communities through the Community Emergency Preparedness Fund (CEPF) to develop and update plans, such as local emergency-alerting systems, that provide information to people in the event of an emergency.
