CLARIFICATION

People wishing to get a look inside Prince George's first Muslim mosque will get their chance, but not this weekend for the general public.

An event is scheduled for Saturday at 1:30 p.m. but contrary to The Citizen's earlier report, it is by invitation only. A full grand opening is in the works.

"We got so many phone calls and emails [about coming on Saturday] which was our fear. We are not worried about all the people who RSVP, but we weren't sure if many would attend without registering first, and we didn't want to turn anyone away," said Prince George Islamic Centre's project co-ordinator Firas Mansour. "We only have limited seating at this point. There are still a few minor issues, finishing, we need to address to make it more accessible to everybody."

He said the general public would not have to wait long. He expected to open the doors to all later this month or in early November at the latest.
