Thirteen volunteer fire fighters jumped into the icy Nechako River, right underneath the Foothills bridge Sunday afternoon, but luckily, there was nobody to save.
The one-day Ice Rescue Awareness course was an all day theory and practical sections, and fire fighters from Hixon, Shell Glen, Ferndale/Tabor and Beaverly joined in.
