Prince George Fire Rescue had a busy noon hour on Wednesday.

In a roughly five-minute span, firefighters were called to two separate scenes starting with a 1300-block Ewert Street home at 11:45 a.m.

Fifteen firefighters from three halls were called to the scene where they found smoke coming from the second floor and doused a blaze in the kitchen.

A pot left on a stove was the source of the fire which caused an estimated $200,000 damage, according to PGFR.

There was one occupant in the home at the time and no one was injured.

Meanwhile, 10 firefighters from two halls were called to a fourplex in the 3800 block of Westwood Drive at 11:50 a.m. where they found heavy smoke coming from all four sides of the upper portion.

Two occupants from the involved suite managed to get out unharmed and did those from another suite while flames and smoke billowed out.

Damage from that fire is estimated at $250,000 and the cause is under investigation.
