Forest firefighters from the Prince George region are among those the province is sending to Idaho on Thursday to help battle blazes in the northwest United States.

The province is sending a total of 41 personnel from the Prince George, Northwest and Coastal fire centres to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. They will join an airtanker group sent earlier this week to Boise, Idaho.

So far this summer B.C. fire crews have been deployed to help their counterparts in the Yukon, Alberta, Alaska, Northwest Territories and Quebec.
