Firefighters called to two blazes

Prince George Fire Rescue crews were called out to two fires on Thursday morning.

Shortly after 8 a.m., 11 firefighters from two halls responded to a small fire in the back bedroom of an apartment in a three-storey building in the 200 block of McIntyre Crescent.

The one occupant who was home at the time of the fire was treated at the scene and later taken to hospital for observation.

About $3,000 damage was caused.

Then shortly before 11:30 a.m., 18 firefighters from four halls responded to a fire that broke out in the living room of a 5400 block Kluane Road home.

The blaze was quickly knocked down and firefighters remained on the scene for several hours putting out hot spots and looking for fire extension.

Damage was estimated at $60,000.
