Training on fighting aviation-related fires will be held on Wednesday and Thursday at the airport.

Dark smoke may be visible from the Prince George Airport on Wednesday and Thursday, but it's not a cause for panic.

Aviation-related fire training is set to run from 7 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. both days.

"Locals are reminded these fires pose no threat to the public or surrounding areas," Prince George Airport Authority said. "These fires are held in self-contained training facilities under controlled circumstances and are part of ongoing recurrent fire training and certification."

Training will be postponed if there is a lightning storm in the area.
