If your water has a tinge of colour or seems to be collecting sediment, not to worry. The City of Prince George is testing fire hydrants this week, which could affect nearby homes.

Starting Monday morning from 10 a.m. to noon, city crews will work on hydrants near Freeman Street at 8th Avenue.

Low water pressure could also be an issue during testing times and the cloudiness should stop by late afternoon.

Then, using a fire engine, on Thursday the city will move its attention to three hydrants near 13th Avenue and Carney, 5th Avenue and George Street, and Tamarack between 17th and 20th Avenues.

"The surrounding areas will likely have sediment stirred up causing cloudy water following the test," the city release said.

The city said Thursday's date is still "tentative"
