Fire fighters training at airport

If you see smoke billowing from the Prince George Airport, no need to panic.

If you see smoke billowing from the Prince George Airport, no need to panic.

Fire fighters began training on "aviation related structural fires," the Prince George Airport Authority (PGAA) said in a press release, and will continue through to the end of next week

The blazes may produce dark smoke and raise concern in the process, but the fires are under control, the PGAA said.

"These fires are held in self contained training facilities under controlled circumstances and pose no threat to the public or surrounding areas," the PGAA said.

The training is being conducted from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will last until Friday, May 13.
