One person suffered significant burns Saturday after a fire broke out in the garage of a 4100-block Nehring Avenue home.
She was taken to hospital while firefighters were able to rescue the family dog from a kennel attached to the structure.
Called to the scene at 3:30 p.m., firefighters found the building engulfed.
"The intensity of the flames made it initially necessary to protect the nearby house, as well as a truck and trailer," Prince George Fire Rescue assistant chief Greg Wilkins said in a release. "Crews were then able to knock down the flames quickly. However fire damage to the garage is substantial."
The cause of the fire appears to be accidental.
