Prince George Fire Rescue was called to a familiar location on Thursday morning.

Shortly after 7:45 a.m., 11 firefighters from two halls arrived at a home in the 2500 block of Pine Street to find thick smoke and flames coming from the roof of a single car garage.

They extinguished the blaze quickly, no one was injured and no other buildings were threatened, PGFR assistant fire chief Greg Wilkins said in a press release.

"The garage was connected to an abandoned house that has been subjected to several fires in the past year," Wilkins also said and added the cause of the fire is being treated as suspicious.
