Fight HST is seeking financial assistance for the lawsuit it filed on July 5 against the B.C. government.
"I expect that we're looking at a minimum of $40,000 or $50,000 to get this thing done and probably $100,000 to get to the finish line. Could be more, could be less," said Fight HST lead organizer Chris Delaney. If Fight HST were to win, the amount of money needed depends on whether or not the province appeals the case.
The first court date is set for Aug. 16, so there's a comfortable amount of time to acquire the money.
"We've had a lot of people asking 'how can I donate?' and we haven't even begun the appeal yet so that's a good sign," he said, "They know that this is a people fight and that we're all going to have to chip in to make it work."
