Fewer homeless counted than in 2008

Final numbers from a 24-hour count of the homeless in Prince George are still to be tabulated but it appears there are fewer people spending the night out on the street - at least in the downtown area, says Community Partners Addressing Homelessness

Final numbers from a 24-hour count of the homeless in Prince George are still to be tabulated but it appears there are fewer people spending the night out on the street - at least in the downtown area, says Community Partners Addressing Homelessness spokesperson Julie Kerr.

"Certainly the street count was much quieter than in 2008 (when the last count was conducted)," Kerr said Tuesday. "There were far fewer people that we contacted who were staying on the street or camping out in park settings."
